मागील दोन वर्षांपासून कोरोनाने जे थैमान घातले आहे त्यात सर्वात जास्त नुकसान हे शिक्षण क्षेत्राचे आणि शाळकरी मुलांचे झाले आहे. lockdown काळातही शिक्षक म्हणून जे जे मुलांना देता येईल ते देण्याचा प्रयत्न प्रत्येकानी केला आणि करत आहेत. दिवाळीच्या आधी शाळा काही प्रमाणात सुरु झाल्या आणि सर्व शिक्षक , पालक आणि मुलांना फार आनंद झाला. परंतु. हा आनंद फार जास्त वेळ टिकला नाही. ओमायक्रॉन मुले शाळेला पुन्हा कुलूप लागले आणि Online शिक्षण पुन्हा सुरु झाले. 

               ऑनलाइन शिक्षण हाच सध्या पर्याय असला तरी त्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांवर होणारे दूरगामी विपरीत परिणाम आपल्याला लक्षात ठेवले पहिले. असो , यावर चर्चा म्हणून हा लेख नाही.  

जोपर्यंत मुलांपर्यंत शिक्षक पोहचणार  नाही तोपर्यंत मुलेही आनंदाने शिकणार नाही असे मला वाटते. 

सध्या माझी शाळा ज्या गोऱ्हे बुद्रुक गावात आहे ते गाव म्हणजे निसर्गाची खाण. झाडे, नदी , भरपूर पाणी , पक्षी  हे रोजचेच दृष्य . एकदा असेच गावात फिरताना ' ग्रीन थंब ' यांच्या पुढाकाराने तयार केलेल्या ही मोकळी  झोपडी मला दिसली. 

चारही बाजूला हिरवीगार शेती आणि पुढे भली मोठी नदी (धरणाचा पाणीसाठा ) असे एकंदरीत चित्र त्या झोपडीत बसल्यावर दिसते.  शांत वातावरण ,पक्ष्यांचा चिवचिवाट ,नदीच्या पाण्याचा मंद आवाज या गोष्टी अलगत कानावर पडतात आणि आपण कुठेतरी ध्यान साधनेला आलो कि काय, असे वाटते. 

दुसऱ्या दिवसापासून माझे थोडे विद्यार्थी आणि मी येथे बसून अभ्यास करू लागलो. हळूहळू मुले वाढली आणि आता या झोपडीला शाळेचे स्वरूप मिळाले. योगा, खेळ यापासून सुरू केलेल्या या वर्गात आता मुले विज्ञान आणि गणिताचाही अभ्यास मोठ्या आवडीने करतात. वाचनाचा तास असो किंवा इंग्रजीचे कोडे मुले सर्व ऍक्टिव्हिटी आनंदाने येथे करतात . 

'ग्रीन थंब ' हा उपक्रम ले. कर्नल सुरेश पाटील (निवृत्त ) यांच्या पुढाकाराने सुरु झाला आहे.  राष्ट्रीय एकात्मतेचा ध्वज खांद्यावर घेऊन माणुसकीच्या विचारांसाठी व पर्यावरण संरक्षणासाठी काम करणे हेच ब्रीद आता पाटील सरानी अंगिकारले आहे असे म्हणायला हरकत नाही. 

'जस्टीस फॉर जवान ' , 'छत्रपती शिवाजी मुस्लिम ब्रिगेड ' या आणि अशा समाजपयोगी संस्थांद्वारे सुद्धा त्यांनी अनेक कार्य केले आहे. 

काल त्यांना भेटण्याचा योग आला . घरदार विकून भाड्याच्या घरात राहूनही देशसेवा , समाजसेवा अविरत सुरु ठेवलेल्या या व्यक्तीकडून अनेक गोष्टी मला शिकता आल्या. साधे राहूनही मोठे होता येते हे त्यांच्याकडे पाहूनच समजते.  खडकवासला धरणक्षेत्रात निसर्ग संवर्धनात मोलाची भूमिका बजावणारे पाटील सरानी त्यांच्या घरी सुद्दा निसर्गाचे संगोपन फार आत्मयतीने केले आहे. 

१९७१ च्या भारत - पाक युद्धात लढलेले हे भारतमातेचे सुपुत्र निवृत्त झाल्यानंतरही देशसेवेचे व्रत पळत आहेत असे म्हणायला हरकत नाही.  जयहिंद सर. 

The education sector and school children have suffered the most in the last two years. Even during the lockdown, as a teacher, everyone tried and is trying to give what they can to the children. Schools started somewhat before Diwali and all the teachers, parents and children were very happy. But. This happiness did not last long. Omicron  re-locked the school and online learning resumed.

               Although online learning is an option right now, we have noticed that it has far-reaching adverse effects on students. I don't think children will learn happily unless the teacher reaches out to them.

        The village where my school is currently located in Gorhe Budruk is a mine of nature. Trees, rivers, plenty of water, birds are a daily sight. Once while walking around the village, I saw this empty hut built by 'Green Thumb' initiative. The overall picture of greenery on all four sides and a large river (dam reservoir) in front of the hut can be seen. The quiet atmosphere, the chirping of birds, the faint sound of the river water are all heard separately and it seems as if you have come somewhere to meditate.

From the next day my little students and I sat here and started studying. Gradually the number  of  children grew up and now this hut has got the look of a school. Starting from yoga and sports, the children now study science and mathematics with great interest. Whether it's a reading hour or an English puzzle, kids happily do all the activities here.

                  'Green Thumb', has been started with the initiative of Colonel Suresh Patil (Retd.).  Patil Sir has now embraced the spirit of working for the cause of humanity and protection of the environment by carrying the flag of national unity on his shoulders.

He has also done a lot of work through 'Justice for Jawan', 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Muslim Brigade' and other such social organizations.

Yesterday I met him. I  learned many things from this person who continued his national service and social service even after selling his house and living in a rented house. One can understand that one can grow up even by being simple. Patil Sir, who plays an important role in the conservation of nature in the Khadakwasla dam area, has taken care of nature in his home with great care.

I strongly say  that,  sons of Bharatmata, who fought in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, are still on a vow of national service after their retirement. Jaihind Sir.
