चांदर गावातील महिलांचे पाण्यासाठीचे हाल मी फार जवळून पाहिले आहे. पाण्याच्या एका हंड्यासाठी ४०-४५ मिनिटे केलेली पायपीट मी स्वतः डोळ्यांनी अनुभवलेली आहे. सध्या गावात विहीर झालेली आहे पण तीही २०० ते ३०० मीटर अंतरावर त्यामुळे अजूनही पाण्यासाठीचा त्रास हवा तसा कमी झालेला नाही. ३ वर्षांपूर्वी STP च्या मदतीने आम्ही विहिरीचे पाणी सोलर मोटर द्वारे शाळेपर्यंत आणण्याचा प्रयत्न केला होता आणि तो यशस्वीही झाला होता . पण काही दिवसांपूर्वी मोटार बंद पडली आणि जवळ आलेलं पाणी पुन्हा लांब गेलं .

आता गावात इलेक्ट्रिसिटी आली आहे.

जी आणि माझी नेहमीच सामाजिक विषयांवर चर्चा होत असतात. मी दोन दिवसांपूर्वी त्यांच्याशी या विषयावर बोललो. चांदर गावातील विहिरीवर नवीन मोटार बसविल्यास लोकांचा त्रास फार कमी होईल हे त्यांना समजलं . Irfan foundation आणि Keki ji यांनी आर्थिक मदतीसाठी पुढाकार घेतला आणि आज गावातील पाणीपुरवठा पुन्हा सुरू झाला.

या गावात असं नळातून पाणी येणं .. आणि ते डोळ्यांनी पाहणे या पेक्षा मोठा आनंद नाही. भारी वाटतंय ...

A big Thank you Keki sir

I have closely watched the plight of the women of Chander village for water. I have personally experienced 40-45 minutes of piping for a pot of water. Currently, there is a well in the village but it is also at a distance of 200 to 300 meters, so the problem of water has not been reduced as it should be. 3 years ago with the help of STP we tried to bring the well water to the school by solar motor and it was successful. But a few days ago, the system stopped and the oncoming water receded.

Now there is electricity in the village.

Keki and I are always discussing social issues. I spoke to him about this two days ago. He understood that if a new motor was installed on the well in Chander village, the trouble of the people would be lessened. He took the initiative for financial help and today the water supply in the village was resumed.

In this village, getting water from such a tap .. and seeing it with the naked eye is a greater joy. Feeling Happy ...
